The Stikine is a progressive northern School District in British Columbia offering a top salary scale with an excellent benefit package. This continuing position is 20 hours per week at $39.91 per hour.
The incumbent must have knowledge, skills & abilities in the following areas:
- valid Class 5 or 7 B.C. driver`s license.
- competent in the use and care of tools and equipment common to this position.
- be able to work both independently and as a team member.
- ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
- effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- ability to work with little or no supervision.
- physically capable of performing all assigned duties (includes walking, standing, stooping, reaching, lifting, moving furniture, and carrying equipment & materials).
- ability to make decisions, solve problems and manage time effectively.
- knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
- familiar with general principles and practices of facility operation.
- provides skilled trades services related to the maintenance and upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- responsible for snow removal in the winter.
Salary and benefits are as provided in the Collective Agreement between the Stikine School Board and C.U.P.E. (Local 2052-02). Applicants must be prepared to undergo a criminal record check.
